Install RabCab

Load RabCab into AutoCAD on Windows.

Before you start

Use 64-bit Windows with AutoCAD 2027. Check your RabCab package matches this AutoCAD version before loading it.

01Install the bundle

Close AutoCAD. Place the complete RabCab.bundle folder supplied with RabCab under %PROGRAMFILES%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins. Keep its PackageContents.xml and Contents directory together.

This location requires administrator permission. Follow Autodesk’s plug-in installation guidance for managed deployments.

Installed bundle

Show RabCab.bundle, PackageContents.xml and Contents in File Explorer. Use the actual 1.0.0 delivery package.

No guessed installer screens · Do not expose a personal path

Install the complete bundle; a DLL copied by itself does not include the package’s support files.

02Open a test drawing

Start AutoCAD, review its plug-in trust prompt if one appears, and open a copy of a drawing. Complete any licensing prompt before trying a command.

Check

AutoCAD recognizes a RabCab command such as _GENBOM. Press Escape to leave its selection prompt if you are only checking the load.

Continue with your first drawing.

If AutoCAD does not recognize the command

Check the AutoCAD version, bundle location and loading error. Preserve AutoCAD’s security settings; resolve the trust or package problem instead of disabling them. Send the exact error to support.
