Add to a dimension system

Insert additional points into an existing linear dimension system with _DIMADD.

Run the command

  1. Run _DIMADD.

    Select a linear dimension from the system you want to extend.

  2. Choose the point to add.

    Use the live preview to check its placement before clicking.

  3. Add more points or finish.

    Repeat for the points you need. Press Escape to leave the point prompt.

Capture the real preview while a point is being chosen, then the same view with the additional dimension in place.

Keep the dimension values and command line readable
Use the preview to check which system receives the new point.
Check

The new points are included in the intended dimension system.

If the selection is refused

The command accepts linear dimensions. Select a dimension in that system rather than unrelated geometry or a different dimension type.
