Generate a bill of materials

Group 3D solids into a parts table with _GENBOM.

What you need

A drawing with 3D solids. Start in model space and close the block editor. Work on a copy while checking your settings.

Run the command

  1. Run _GENBOM.

    Select the solids for the table and confirm.

  2. Set the multiplier if asked.

    This prompt appears when quantity multiplication is enabled in your settings.

  3. Choose a layout.

    Select from the layouts listed by the command.

  4. Choose the insertion point.

    Place the table in the selected layout.

Show the actual table from the same sample selection used by the first-drawing guide.

Reuse the approved R03 capture
Check grouped rows and quantities against the selected solids.
Check

A table appears in the chosen layout with identical parts grouped together.

If the table is missing

Confirm the selection contains 3D solids. Read any error in the command line and check the destination layout. An empty selection ends the command without creating a table.
